Dan and Jana grew up in rural Minnesota (USA), met in Bible college, fell in love, and had the same desire to serve the Lord in cross-cultural ministry. As members of Parkers Lake Baptist Church in Plymouth, Minnesota, they were sent to work in Mwanza, Tanzania in 2008. Their family has grown along with their heart for ministry in Africa.
Life involves individual discipleship, hospitality, visits to village churches for preaching and teaching, and homeschooling for Jana and the children. They live in a fishing village just outside of Mwanza City, on the property of Tumaini Children's Home, a ministry of Grace Baptist Mission of Tanzania. They own a cow named Betsy and love to laugh.
